These are real pictures of Dolphins in and around the Pagasitikos Gulf, Sporades Islands, West Aegean. Rarely there when you look for them but they are here and you may be lucky.
When out on charter or out with friends we very often meet the Dolphins. Normally when the wind is low, the weather warm and calm flat 'inky' seas and all still and quiet you spot them. First a jump in the distance, was that a Dolphin! Then suddenly 3,4,5 Dolphins cross the bow of the yacht, you can see them clearly under the water and they turn up and take a look at you. Then if you are lucky they will follow you for a while, jumping around the bow, cameras out you try and catch them and then they go down, deep into the clear waters till they are out of sight. Sometimes they come back and play and somtimes thats your lot, leaving you with that magical feeling that somthing really special just happend.

"I have personally had close encounters with the Dolphins in the north Evia channel near 'Ormos Atalantis' and east Pagasitikos Gulf near 'Lefocastro', west Pagasitikos Gulf in the 'Volos Channel', south Pelion in the 'Trikeri Channel' near 'Ak Sarakiniko' and just off west Skopelos heading for 'Panormou'. Some people go off for 2 weeks and never see a Dolphin and some see them twice in the same day, so they are there IF you are the luck ones". Philip Elliott
