Taking a holiday on the sea is pretty difficult to beat. With the fresh air and beautiful sunsets, not to mention the amazing places to visit when the call of land is too strong, there are so many things that a seafaring holiday has going for it. The Mediterranean and the Ionian Seas are two of the most fantastic places throughout the world to witness from the deck of a ship or yacht and should definitely be high on the must do lists of anyone who loves traveling. Whilst many are more interested in a luxurious cruise that is loaded with entertainment options there are certainly an equal number of people who would rather have a bit more input into their itinerary and therefore stay away from the larger vessels that cater to many passengers at once, thus preferring to rent a yacht. Whilst with the latter option there is more room for spontaneity, the former does most certainly have its appeal in that there is far more entertainment, more options in regards to food and drinks and can cover greater distances.
The latter, that of the yacht rental, makes for a unique and appealing way to experience firsthand the beauty and tranquility of one of the most famous and endearing passages of water to be found on the planet. Hiring a yacht in Greece, either a bareboat (one that comes without crew and provisions) or a skippered vessel for those that lack the experience, is the opportunity of a lifetime in much the same way that a cruise on board the Mariner of the Seas or any similar vessel is, as what will be experienced can only be described as out of this world. Although both experiences will no doubt be quite different, they will both be equally enjoyable, therefore prospective passengers must think long and hard about what they want to get out of or achieve with their trip. Relaxation can be enjoyed on both options, as can a variety of water sports and sightseeing. Sightseeing however is something that is probably better done on a rented yacht due to there being no time restraints and schedules to keep.
Relaxation, although certainly a major part of any yachting experience is maybe better done of the cruise ship as there are bigger decks, swimming pools and of course restaurants and bars, so it can safely be said that the cruise ship offers more options in that regard. If however one is an experienced sailor then there's obviously no need to think at all about which option will prevail as sailing the Mediterranean or the Ionian Seas in a yacht rented at a reasonable price from a Greek rental agency is not an opportunity that anyone with a love of sailing would be able to overlook. Regardless of whatever type seafaring holiday floats your boat you won't find it difficult to find a holiday that appeals to you online from one of the numerous cruise operators or yacht rental agencies online.
