Logo design and Yacht racing
If you are a keen sailing enthusiast you cannot fail to notice the sponsored corporate emblems that are emblazoned on the yacht taking part in transatlantic races and other competitions aired on the major sports channels. Although many of these logos are common place on the high street and on TV there is something that enhances them when mounted on an ocean going craft. The emblem seems to be larger than life when set against the ranging blue sea and this something that the sponsors realise all to well.
To get the maximum impact from any corporate logo the design must be spot on any poor or inappropriate logo design will be seized upon and even ridiculed in the national press resulting in the sponsor or company receiving negative publicity for their multimillion dollar investment. The first step that any company need to take before finalising any corporate emblem or logo is to engage the services of a well known and respected advertising agency. Potential investors and clients alike can spot substandard advertising a mile away and as far fetched as it seems could affect short term and long term business aspirations. There are several well documented cases of companies spending substantial amounts of money on marketing only to have to redo it because of poor publicity or adverse reactions from the press, this is obviously something to be avoided at all costs so some careful research is essential before entering into any contractual agreement.
